Master’s in Counseling Student Intern Suzanne Koett
Adolescent and Adult Individual Clinical Intern Therapist
Some seasons in life feel heavy, marked by disconnection. These moments often signal a misalignment, a call to return to our true self. Awareness can serve as an invitation to gently wake from autopilot, break old patterns, and reconnect with our inner wisdom and resourcefulness. Through conscious awareness and presence, we open the door to meaningful change and to a life that feels more authentic. On the other side of our pain, peace and joy await.
As a counseling intern at the Journey Center for Healing Arts, I support clients in reconnecting with their inner resilience and moving toward greater wholeness. I take a wellness-based, integrative approach that honors the mind, body, and soul in the healing process. My work draws from mindfulness, somatic, emotion-focused, attachment-based, expressive arts practices, and the wisdom of neuroscience. I hold deep respect for each person’s unique story and offer a heart-connected, collaborative space that nurtures curiosity, connection, and transformation.
My path to counseling is informed by both my background in the arts and my interest in Buddhist and contemplative psychology, using the power of creative expression as a pathway to healing, self-discovery, and deeper connection. I hold a BA in Studio Art (photography) from San Francisco State University and am currently pursuing an MS in Counseling at Milligan University. Outside of my work and studies, I enjoy spending time in nature, making art, playing guitar, creating custom aromatherapy blends, crafting herbal teas and tonics, and exploring new creative outlets.
