Life is like a river – it is beautiful and serene when simply observed, but can also be rough and full of twists and turns when you are caught in its rushing waters. Our hope as humans is to find that balance in observing the beauty and serenity within life as well as navigating its rougher parts without getting swept away. We cannot change the nature of the river, but we can heal the wounds from past events, equip ourselves to handle the river more readily, and catch ourselves should we get swept away. I believe that we all have it within us to overcome the challenges we face, but life and external stressors can make it difficult to adhere to what our mind, body, and soul are telling us. The work I do with clients involves developing tools in their toolbelt so that they can be more prepared to face the past, present, and future.

As a counseling intern, my experience has had me work with teens, young adults, and adults and I am open to working with older adults as well! I host the belief that human connection is important in the healing process, each client is unique, and that no single modality is a perfect fit for everyone. In congruence with this belief, I approach each session with intentionality. I have found that I enjoy integrating multiple modalities to meet clients where they are and collaborate to see what works best for them. Modalities I often dip into include, but are not limited to, are DBT, SFBT, and Existential Therapy.

I entered counseling informed by military and academic coaching backgrounds, so I have always been driven to support others. I have a BS in Clinical Psychology and am currently pursuing an MA in Clinical Counseling at ETSU. When I am not in counselor mode, I enjoy reading, playing video games and tabletop games, and building and painting miniatures!
